Bushfire Seasons
Bushfire seasons are getting longer each year
The Californian bushfire tragedy reminds Australians that our own fire season is imminent – no one wants to lose their home over the summer, but it can be hard sometimes to know what you can do to protect it.
The good news is that an Australian company has introduced a new fire-proof building product that will revolutionize the fire-proofing of Australian homes, AND without breaking the bank.
Most Australian homes, 70% in fact, are constructed of timber framing or brick veneer with plasterboard and timber stud walls. This makes them a huge fire risk.
Imagine if you could cover your house in an inexpensive, lightweight but incredibly fire resistant substitute? Imagine if it could withstand temperatures of 1000 degrees Celsius or higher? The peace of mind that would give you would be enormous.
ONLY SMALL CONSTRUCTION CHANGES REQUIRED AND LESS EXPENSIVE
FireCrunch Australasia is changing how houses are built to withstand a firestorm and offer a high degree of Bushfire protection. FireCrunch is a fire-resistant cladding board that is made from a composite of Magnesium Oxide and Magnesium Sulphate (MgSO4) . This combination with some other special (IP) ensures that your house will not burn down in a bushfire storm.****
The board is so insulating, that you can actually put your hand on the unexposed side of a 90mm cavity wall, even if the temperature has been heated to 1000 degrees Celsius on the other side for 30 minutes .
FireCrunch forms a protective envelope or fire box for walls ceilings and floors which will not allow the internal temperature to reach combustion levels and keeps it below 25 to 35 deg Celsius so the home will still be left standing after the FIRE storm passes.****
YOUR VALUABLE CONTENTS AND PERSONAL MEMORIES WILL NOT BE LOST
See video link CSIRO test https://firecrunch.com.au/about-us/ to see how fire is just is unable to get a combustion foothold on FireCrunch.
AUSTRALIAN STANDARDS CSIRO TESTED
To ensure that the product complied with Australian standards, several tests were undertaken by the CSIRO under the most aggressive fire test conditions and FireCrunch achieved a 90 minute fire rating with just 1 x 10mm thick board. AS1530.1, AS1530.4-2014 (C1..C19)-/ 2025 which also easily meets the lower bushfire level AS/3959 via the NCC alternative systems, qualified by registered fire engineers certificates of compliance
BUSHFIRE PROOF CLADDING AS/ 3959 COMPLIANT
That fire test proved that the cladding integrity could withstand 90 minutes at 1000 degrees celsius.
Put simply, this is means that the 10mm FireCrunch products will withstand a full Passover Firestorm attack (the worst kind of bushfire with temperatures of 1200 deg C), as tested in a real time bushfire test scenario by the CSIRO.
FireCrunch materials are an internal /external cladding that you use for interior / exterior walls, floors, ceilings and roofing.**** and create a completely fireproof shield from above, below and the sides
TESTED CLAIMS
Peter Jones, National Coordinator of FireCrunch Australasia says, “we have a product that can save people’s homes” if they are suddenly unlucky enough to be exposed to a bush fire. Our product makes fireproofing homes much more affordable and effective for home owners, than most other options in bricks and masonry walls, none of which themselves withstand severe fire storms either, the non protective PHOTOGRAPHIC EVIDENCE in the aftermath Black Saturday and the California fires are grim realities of such recorded Fire Storms.
(BAL) Bushfire Attack Levels are Low, 12.5, 19, 29, 40 and BAL FZ rated in kw per m2 from 12.5kw to the max (BAL FZ) Flame Zone 50kw/m2 and the rural fire service can provide you with further detailed info relative to these BAL levels.
New BAL costs are costly FireCrunch lowers rates per m2
Building fireproof homes to the new building codes BAL ( Bushfire attack level ) in bushfire zones can be a crippling expense for some, even putting some people off building in these areas at all . But no longer! FireCrunch is approximately 50% less*** per square meter than using masonry or brick walls.

Confirmations –
**** Note this requires that BAL FZ tested fire doors and windows are also used
*** These reductions may be subject to slight variations but still very significant
